So, I was binge-watching Pretty Little Liars the other day, you know, just for old times' sake. And there I was, minding my own business, when it hit me - how old is Aria Montgomery, really? I mean, I've seen her grow up on my screen, from a wide-eyed teenager to a, well, slightly less wide-eyed adult. But what's her actual age? Let's dive in, shall we?
Where It All Began
Remember when Aria first stepped into Rosewood High, all braces and big eyes? That was back in 2010, when the show premiered. Lucy Hale, the actress who plays Aria, was 21 at the time. So, Aria was supposed to be around 16, right? But here's where it gets a bit tricky. You see, Aria was supposed to be a freshman, but Lucy was already out of high school. So, they aged Aria up a bit, made her a sophomore. Confusing, I know. But hey, it's TV land, anything goes!
Time Flies When You're Having Secrets
Fast forward seven seasons, and we're at the series finale in 2017. Aria, now a teacher, is engaged to her on-again, off-again love interest, Ezra. Lucy Hale was 28 by then. So, if we're going by the show's timeline, Aria would be around 24. But remember, time doesn't pass at the same rate in Rosewood as it does in the real world. A lot of time jumps happened between seasons, so who knows how old Aria really is?
Must Read
But Wait, There's More
Now, here's where things get really interesting. In 2019, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists aired. It's a spin-off, set a few years after the original show. Aria, now a published author, is back, and she's played by... wait for it... Sasha Pieterse, who was 23 at the time. Yes, you read that right. A new actress took over the role. But don't worry, it's all explained in the show. Aria had a face transplant. I know, I know, it's a lot. Welcome to the PLL universe!

So, How Old Is Aria?
Well, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? If we're going by the original actress and the show's timeline, Aria would be around 24-25. But if we're talking about the spin-off and the new actress, she's around 23-24. But remember, time is weird in Rosewood. So, who knows? Maybe Aria is a timeless enigma, like the rest of us PLL fans trying to figure out what's really going on in that town.
Anyway, folks, that's my two cents on Aria's age. It's a confusing topic, I know, but hey, that's Pretty Little Liars for you.
