Hey there, fellow DreamWorks enthusiasts! You know how sometimes you're watching "Dragons: Race to the Edge" and you find yourself wondering, "Just how old is Hiccup anyway?" Well, grab a cup of tea, get comfy, and let's dive into this together, yeah?
So, Hiccup's Age, You Ask?
Alright, let's rewind a bit. The first "How to Train Your Dragon" movie was released in 2010, and Hiccup was around 15 years old in that one. Now, "Dragons: Race to the Edge" started airing in 2015, so that's about 5 years later, right?
But here's the thing, the show doesn't pick up right where the movie left off. It's more like a side quest, happening between the events of the first and second movies. So, even though it started airing later, Hiccup's still a teenager, just a bit older than he was in the first movie.

Age Progression, Anyone?
You might be thinking, "Well, how much older?" Great question! The showrunners have mentioned that Hiccup is around 17 or 18 years old during the series. But remember, this is a bit of an estimate, as the show doesn't give us a specific birthday or anything.
Think about it like this: Hiccup's age in the show is kind of like a video game character's level. It's not super important, but it gives you a rough idea of where they're at in their journey. In this case, Hiccup's in his late teens, learning, growing, and becoming the Viking chief we all know and love.
Why Does It Matter?
You might be wondering, "Why should I care about Hiccup's age?" Well, it's all about context, my friend. Knowing Hiccup's age can help us understand his character arc better. He's not just a kid anymore; he's a young adult, trying to figure out his place in the world, just like a lot of us.
Plus, it's kind of cool to see how he grows and changes over the course of the series. It's like watching a plant grow, you know? Slow and steady, but you can definitely see the difference if you look closely.

Let's Talk Toothloss
Now, you might be thinking, "But what about Toothless? How old is he?" Great question! Toothless is a bit trickier, as dragons don't age the same way humans do. But according to the showrunners, Toothless is around the same age as Hiccup, just in dragon years.
Think of it like this: Toothless is like that wise old dog who's been by your side through thick and thin. He might not be as spry as he used to be, but he's still got plenty of love and wisdom to give.
