Robert Kraft: The Man Behind the Patriots, Aging Like Fine Wine
Ever wondered how old the man behind the New England Patriots' success story is? Robert Kraft, the team's owner, is a fascinating blend of business acumen and sports passion, and his age is just one of the many intriguing aspects of his life.
Born in the Roaring '30s
Robert Kenneth Kraft was born on June 5, 1941, in Brookline, Massachusetts. That makes him a 79-year-old patriarch of the NFL world, born in the same decade as other icons like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Imagine Kraft growing up in post-WWII America, a time of hope and prosperity, much like the Patriots' dynasty he's built.
From Textiles to Touchdowns
Kraft's journey from a textile business heir to an NFL owner is as inspiring as any Hollywood script. He took over the family business, International Textile Group, in the '60s, transforming it into a global powerhouse. But his heart was always in sports. In 1994, he bought the Patriots for a cool $172 million, a steal compared to today's multi-billion dollar valuations.
