So, I was binge-watching "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" the other day, and I found myself wondering, "Hey, how old was Alexandra Daddario when she played Annabeth Chase?" I mean, she looked like she was in her late teens, but you never know with Hollywood magic, right?
Well, let's dive into the Mystic Sea of Answers and find out!
Back to the Beginning
Alexandra Daddario was born on March 16, 1986, in New York City. That makes her a Pisces, in case you're into astrology. Now, the first Percy Jackson movie, "The Lightning Thief," was released in 2010. Let's do some math here, folks. If you're bad at math, don't worry, I'll keep it simple.
Must Read
In 2010, Alexandra was... drumroll ... 24 years old!
I know, right? Mind. Blown.
But Wait, There's More!
Now, you might be thinking, "But the movies were supposed to be about teenagers! How could she play a 16-year-old when she was 24?" Well, my friend, that's where the magic of Hollywood comes in. You know, the same magic that makes us believe a man can fly or a ring can rule them all.
Seriously though, age is just a number in Hollywood. And let's face it, Alexandra pulled off the teenage look pretty well. I mean, have you seen her without makeup? She looks like she's barely out of high school!
Age is Just a Number
Anyway, back to the point. Alexandra was 24 when she played 16-year-old Annabeth. But here's the thing, folks. In the world of Percy Jackson, the characters are supposed to be 12 when they first discover they're demigods. So, even though Alexandra was playing a 16-year-old, she was still younger than the character she was portraying in the books.
Confused yet? Don't worry, I won't test you on this in real life.

And Then There Was More
Now, you might be wondering, "What about 'Sea of Monsters'? How old was she then?" Well, that movie was released in 2013. So, if our math skills are still intact, Alexandra was...
Drumroll, please...
27 years old!
Yep, you read that right. She was 27 playing a 17-year-old. I know, I know, it's crazy. But hey, at least she looked the part, right?
So, What's the Point?
I guess the point is, age is just a number. Especially in Hollywood. And Alexandra Daddario was 24 and 27 when she played 16 and 17-year-old Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson movies. But who's counting, right?
Anyway, I hope that clears up the mystery. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some more binge-watching to do. Until next time, folks!
